Ronald "Ronnie" Dexter Kennedy, 75 years old of Springfield, Louisiana, passed away on Wednesday,October 24, 2018, at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond. He was born on Wednesday, April 7, 1943, in Springfield, Louisiana to Claude Alvin and Violet St. Cyr Kennedy. Ronnie enjoyed life and loved hunting, fishing, camping,gardening, drinking a beer and chewing his tobacco, but he especially loved spending time with his family.
Ronnie is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Christine Penalber Kennedy, his sons, Ronald"Brett" Kennedy and his wife Susan and Kelly Dexter Kennedy and his wife Abby, his daughter, Monica Darnell Rhodus and her husband Tim, his grandchildren, Justin Kennedy, Laken Lanoux, Jourdan Raney and her husband Dylan, Megan Kennedy, Kris and Katie Lanoux, Nicholas, Mary, Gabe and Kelsey Kennedy, Trent and Jon Threeton, his great grandchildren, Avery Foxworth,Payton Lanoux and Sawyer Raney, and his brother, Kurt Kennedy and his wife Linda, also many nieces, nephews and close friends.
Ronnie is preceded in death by his parents, Claude Alvin and Violet St. Cyr Kennedy and his brother, Larry Kennedy.
A Visitation for Ronnie will beheld on Saturday, October 27, 2018 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Springfield in Springfield. A Funeral Service Celebrating Ronnie's Life will immediately follow visitation at 12:00 pm in the church.Interment will follow at Carter Cemetery in Springfield.
