Scott Zenón Ramirez, 40, passed away at his home on November 5, 2018. After a long battle with Cancer, he left this life surrounded by his loved ones.

Scott was born on November 26, 1977. The son of Edgar Ramirez of Costa Rica and Gail Griffith of Mt. Olive, Mississippi and was one of 7 children. Scott was a graduate of Hammond High School class of 1996. He served in the United States Army from 1996 until 2000 and then served in the National Guard from 2000-2004. He attended Southeastern Louisiana University where he majored in Spanish and Occupational Health and was a member of Theta Xi Fraternity.

Scott was a devoted Son, Husband, Father, Brother, Uncle, and Friend. He is survived by his wife Derley Garzon-Ramirez and their Daughter Noah Mariana; two brothers and 4 sisters, Alberto, Edgar, Katia and Alejandra of Costa Rica and Courtney and Jodie Ramirez of Hammond; and their daughters Mia Nunez and Parker Ramirez. Scott loved music, traveling and meeting people. He never met a stranger. His love for life was infectious and drew people to him. Scott’s last weeks on this earth were spent receiving visits from a countless number of family and friends. These visits filled Scott with so much joy and for that his family will forever be grateful.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, November 9, 2018, from 6 pm until 9pm at Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home 2000 N. Morrison Blvd. Hammond, LA. Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Saturday November 10, 2018 at 10 am with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 pm.

Following the services Scott’s dear friends will be hosting a gathering at their restaurant, Kane’s Deli, 530 W. Pine St., Ponchatoula, Louisiana.
