Shaun Christian Tycer, 39, of Tickfaw, Louisiana, departed this life on Tuesday, October 30, 2018. He was born on May 26, 1979 to Dwain and Linda Mitchell Tycer, the eldest of three sons. His love for everyone he encountered was a testament of his heart and personality. Shaun is now with the Lord, and is healed, whole, and restored.

Shaun graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic High School in 1997, where he was the first quarterback to play for their football program. He later graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University with a degree in industrial technology. He was a member of the Theta Xi Fraternity. Shaun was employed by AT&T in Baton Rouge. He was also a member of Nesom Memorial Methodist Church of Tickfaw.

Shaun was a devoted father to his son, Cannon Thomas Tycer. He is also survived by his parents, Dwain and Linda Mitchell Tycer; his two brothers, Chad and his wife Sarah Tycer, and Trey Tycer; grandmother, Peggy Hughes Tycer; his niece, Sydnie Tycer, all of Tickfaw; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Shaun was preceded in death by his grandparents, G.F. Tycer, Jr., and Roy and Erline Mitchell.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, November 2, 2018 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd. Hammond, Louisiana. Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Saturday, November 3, 2018, from 9:00 AM until the funeral service begins at 11:00 AM, conducted by Rev. Lee McKinzie.

Interment will follow at Tycer Cemetery in Tickfaw.

The family asks that all memorial donations be made to the National Brain Tumor Society.
