Sherman Willie Morgan Sr., a US Navy Veteran and former power plant operator for Entergy, Duke Energy, NAES and Cinergy transitioned peacefully at home on January 1, 2018.  Sherman, age 50, a resident of Tangipahoa Parish was born in Jackson, Mississippi but reared in Kansas City, Missouri.  

Sherman  leaves to mourn his devoted wife for over a decade, Katine Jackson Morgan; one daughter, Shannon Peterson (Jonathan); four sons:  Sherman Jr., Joseph, Shawn (Alexis) and Shayne Morgan; mother, Georgia Johnson (W.C.) Battle, mother-in-law, Daisy Jackson; grandmother-in-law, Mae O. Franklin; Sister, Shaunda Morgan; Sister-in-law, Ernestine Jackson; three brothers:  Maurice and Jerald Johnson and Antonio (Clarice) Morgan; three brother-in-laws:  Johnnie Jones, Lionel and Donald Jackson; eight grandchildren:  Spirit, Sincere, Trevell, Destiny, Devin, Khalil, Khaci and Journi.  He also leaves to mourn his favorite aunt, Shirley Mack, great uncle, Joseph (Sandra) Johnson, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.

Sherman was preceded in death by his father, John Ainsworth Morgan; grandparents, William and Olivia Puryear and Jessie and Flossie Morgan; one brother, Cory Morgan; his father-in-law, William Jackson, favorite uncle, Willie (Billy) Johnson, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2018 beginning at 10:00 am at Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home located at 2000 N. Morrison Blvd. in Hammond, Louisiana the Memorial Service will take place at 11:00 am.
