Shirley Mae Charbonnet Demars passed away on Friday, February 2, 2018, in Hammond, Louisiana, at the age of 86. She was born on Friday, March 13, 1931 in Ponchatoula, Louisiana and was a lifelong resident of Ponchatoula, Louisiana. Shirley was an animal lover and an avid gardener who enjoyed caring for her beautiful rose garden.
Shirley is survived by her loving family: daughter and son-in-law, Sheryl Demars Robertson Schmidt and Elmer Schmidt; son, Randy Mark Demars; grandchildren, Derek Robertson, Jay Robertson, and Danny Carriere and his wife, April; great-grandchildren, Katie, Jayse, and Kylie Robertson, and three step great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Cleo Joseph Demars; parents, Clara Hils Charbonnet and David Joseph Charbonnet; son-in-law, Jerry N. Robertson; brother, Raymond Charbonnet; and nephew, Raymond "Butch" Charbonnet.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 255 North 8th Street, Ponchatoula, Louisiana 70454, on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at 11:00 am. Visitation will be held at church from 10:00 am until 11:00 am.
Interment will follow in Ponchatoula Cemetery, Ponchatoula, Louisiana.
