Theresa "Tess" Beckler passed away on Friday, November 24, 2017, at the age of 63. She was born on August 25, 1954, in New Orleans, LA, to the late Theresa Virciglio and the late Frederick C. Beckler. She was a resident of Ponchatoula, LA. Tess is survived by her brother, Frederick Beckler and a host of extended family. Tess received her BA in political science at UNO and graduated in 1977. She received her Juris Doctor of Law at Loyola University and graduated in May 1981. She had Drake and Beckler Law Offices in Metairie, LA and Ponchatoula, LA. Her law partners included Ernie Drake Jr., Charlotte Drake, and Ernie Drake III. In addition, she served many years working for the Dept. of Children and Family Services. She was an advocate for children, the elderly, and pet rescue. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Research Hospital. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home 100 W Magnolia St. Ponchatoula, LA 70454 on Tuesday, December 5, 2017, from 9 AM until the memorial service at 11 AM.
