With our deepest sorrow, we announce the passing of Wayne Joseph Bourliea Jr. (Bubba), age 36, our beloved son, brother, father, family member, and friend passed suddenly on Wednesday, July 29, 2020. Those who knew Wayne, even a little, lost a shining light on this day. He was an Iron Worker of Local Union 58 of New Orleans and has worked for the past 2 years at Z Equipment. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus in Hammond. Wayne loved to cook for friends and family from smoked pig, to boiled crawfish to raccoon stew, but his biggest love was his three children.

Wayne will be deeply missed by his three children and their mother, Megan F. Bourliea, parents Wayne and Ann Bourliea of Loranger, sister Wendy Kinchen and husband Jacob, sister Emily Hoyt and husband Cecil, sister Stacey Synakiewicz and husband Michael, and sister Rebecca Bourliea. Grandparents Fred and Joyce Bourliea and grandmother Marie Von Behren along with 4 nieces and 4 nephews.

He is preceded in death by his grandfather August Ervin Von Behren Jr.

A Visitation for Wayne will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 from 9:00 am until 10:30 am with a reciting of the Rosary at 8:30am at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond. A Funeral Mass Celebrating Wayne’s Life will follow visitation at 11:00 am at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Hammond. Entombment will follow at Our Lady of Pompeii Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum in Tickfaw.
