Wilfred Mikel Tompkins passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2017, in Hammond at the age of 81. He was born on Wednesday, February 26, 1936 in Hammond, Louisiana to the late Mary Michelli Tompkins and the late James Mathais Tompkins. He was a resident of Hammond, Louisiana.
Wilfred was a well known avid painter in the Hammond area for 62 years.
Wilfred is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Annie Laura Sullivan Tompkins; sons, Michael (Kim) Tompkins, David (Terry) Tompkins; daughter, Liz (Mark) Bickford; grandsons, Charlie (Brent) Tompkins, Daniel (Shauntel) Tompkins, and Trent (Brittany) Tompkins; granddaughters, Michelle Tompkins (Jamie Ray) Ferrage, and Tracy Bickford, great-grandchildren, Ethan, Talyn, and Brody Tompkins and Lucy Ferrage.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation held on Sunday, October 1, 2017, at Harry Mckneely & Son-Hammond from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm & Monday, October 2, 2017, 10:00 am until service time at 1:30 pm presided by Deacon Nat Garofalo of Holy Ghost Catholic Church. A rosary will be held at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401, on Sunday, October 1, 2017 at 8:00 pm recited by Vince Gennardo.
Interment will follow in Rose Memorial Park Cemetery, Hammond, Louisiana.
