Elton Randolph Blount went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 13, 2022, at his homein Loranger, Louisiana, at the age of 86. He was born on Thursday, October 3, 1935 in Livingston Parish, Louisiana to the late Leona Burlingame Blount and the late Henry E. Blount. He was a resident of Loranger, Louisiana. Elton was an avid sportsman, and he loved hunting and fishing. He also loved to run dogs with his buddies, Roland Brewer, Billy Duval, Trey Gentry, Mike Prevost, Peyton Prevost, and Hunter Prevost. Elton loved to travel to the mountains, Canada, and Kentucky to visit flea markets and the amish communities.
Elton is survived by his wife of 33 years, Betty Prevost Blount; daughters, Joan Blount Furlow and Lynn Blount Egnew; sons, Clarence Ellis Prevost (Amy), Donald Jason Prevost (Karen), and Peyton Scott Prevost (Sarah); 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; siblings, Marvelle Blount Pierson, Connie Blount McClendon, and Arthur "Butch" Blount; and close friend, Benjamin Salazar.
He was preceded in death by his father, Henry E. Blount; mother, Leona Burlingame Blount; brothers, Raymond J. Blount, Sr. and Henry E. Blount, Jr.; sister, Henrietta Blount Kyle; daughter, Beverly Blount Hayes; granddaughter, Jennifer Furlow; son-in-law, Morris Allen Furlow; and first wife, Mildred Shaffet Blount.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home in Hammond, 2000 N Morrison Boulevard, Hammond, Louisiana 70401, on Sunday, January 16, 2022, from 12:00 PM until the funeral service begins at 2:00 PM.
Interment will follow in Blount Cemetery, Satsuma, Louisiana.
