The sun dimmed, the oceans calmed, and the winds silenced as our angel made her way back to heaven. Jenell Elizabeth Calmes Manuel passed away on Monday, January 9, 2023. Family left to cherish her memory are her daughter Kristen Elizabeth Marten Phillips, son Thomas Ryan Marten and daughter-in-law Brittany, son Tyler Coby Manuel, stepdaughter Celeste Manuel Neuville: grandchildren, Charlee, Harper, and Nolan Phillips; Gunner, Liam, and Brooklyn Marten; Jake Michael Neuville. Her sister Debbie Giacone and husband Steve, sister Darlene Gonzales and husband Freddie, brother Todd Calmes and wife Leigh, numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, father Lanell A. Calmes, mother Marlene Calmes Major and brother Keith Calmes.
Jenell was born on February 19, 1964, in Hammond, LA and was an employee at EME Company in Prairieville, LA for the last 20 years. Born in Hammond, but she resided in Baton Rouge for the last 32 years.
Jenell will be remembered for her kindness by everyone who was blessed to know her. Her favorite things in life included being at the beach, laying by the pool, dancing, shopping, and the LSU Tigers. She enjoyed travelling, especially to Hawaii. However, the greatest love of her life was her family. She was the happiest when she was spending time with her grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond, 2000 N Morrison Boulevard, Hammond, Louisiana 70401, on Thursday, January 19, 2023, beginning at 10:00 AM until the funeral service begins at 1:00 PM.
Interment will follow in Mount Stevens Cemetery, Tickfaw, Louisiana.
