John Harold Alexander, 83 years old of Ponchatoula, Louisiana, passed away on Saturday, October 20, 2018, at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond. He was born on Friday, May 17, 1935, in New Orleans, Louisiana to Chester and Eva Cummings Alexander. John enjoyed life and loved horses, volunteering and being active with kids in sports and school, but he especially loved spending time with his family.
John is survived by his daughters,Pam Alexander and Lori Feltis, his son, Gary Alexander, his grandchildren,Shannon Williams, Tawny Morse and Samantha Alexander, his great-grandchildren,Jessica Musee and Lane Williams, his brothers David Alexander and his wife Gwen and Phillip Alexander and his wife Vicki, also many nieces, nephews and close friends.
John is preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Eva Cummings Alexander, his wife, Beverly Jean Alexander,his brothers, Roy, Robert and Neil and his sisters, Blanche, Dot, Betty Jo,Nancy and Mary.
A Visitation for John will be held on Friday, October 26, 2018 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm and continue on Saturday, October 27, 2018 from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Ponchatoula. A Funeral Service Celebrating John's Life will immediately follow visitation at 12:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Sand Hill Cemetery in Ponchatoula.
