Kenneth Joseph Ernst passed away on Monday, October 3, 2016, in Hammond, Louisiana, at the age of 84. He was born on Thursday, September 29, 1932, in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Laura Catanzaro Ernst and Louis Robert Ernst. He was a resident of Hammond, Louisiana.
Kenneth was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather. He served in the Korean War in the United States Navy. He was also a union member in the International Longshoremen's Association, AFL-CIO.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rosalie Macheca Ernst, and joined her for a joyous celebration 13 years from the date of her passing.
He is survived by his daughters, Deborah Anselmo Johnston (Michael), and Laura Breaux (Richard Castro), and son-in-law, Stephen Breaux; four grandchildren, Lela Cook (Scott), Jonathan Johnston, Christopher Johnston, and Shelly George (Eric), six great-grandchildren, Ethan Hughes, Nolan George, Elijah Johnston, Caleb Cook, Aja Cook, and Gharrin Cook; and two great-great-grandchildren, Ezmeah Cook and Ezekiel Cook.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Mass at St. Margaret Queen of Scotland Catholic Church, 30300 Catholic Hall Road, Albany, Louisiana 70711, on Friday, October 14, 2016 at 3:00 pm.
Interment will follow in St. Margaret Catholic Church Cemetery, Albany, Louisiana.
