Peggy Marie Smoot Parmley
Peggy Marie Smoot Parmley, 77 years old of Ponchatoula, peacefully passed away on Monday, September 12, 2022, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family, cooking with Sarah and Russell, crossword puzzles, and watching The Game Show Network and cooking shows. When she wasn't watching Jeopardy, you could find her playing on Facebook, reading, laughing at the animals, especially Kitten and the chickens and enjoying the nice weather.
Survivors include her daughters, Sandra Parmley, Sarah Ellzey (Russell); sons, Philip Parmley (Colleen), Michael Parmley (Summer); grandchildren, Kalvin, Kendrick, Malik & Tyrick, Leah, Kaylee & Michael Jr.; sister, Mildred "Minnie" Riley.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Leonard D. Parmley; siblings, Mary, Tommy, Taylor, Harold, Russell, Bunnie, and Butch; parents, Harvey and Cecil Smoot.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home on Saturday, September 17, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. until the Celebration of Life Service at 1:00 p.m. Services will be officiated by Mrs. Leslie See with interment will follow in Holly Gardens Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
