Teresa Ann Merriman Arvello, 60, of Hammond, peacefully passed away on Sunday afternoon, September 18, 2022, at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge, surrounded by loved ones.

Teri was born on July 18, 1962, in the bustling city of Escondido, California. After Teri graduated from Doyle High School in 1980, she worked in the cosmetics department at Walgreens for years. Teri, a dedicated Catholic, was passionate about her bible, gardening, fishing with her husband, and the beach.

Teri cherished her family, especially her boys. She looked forward to regular Mexican or Seafood lunch dates with her sisters or her Aunt Judy.

Teri is survived by Michael Arvello, her husband of 25 years; David Merriman, her son, and his wife, Jennifer; her stepfather, Jim Collins; a sister, Janna Arledge, and her husband, Lyndon; her brother, Jimmy Collins, Jr., and his wife, Karen; brothers, Johnny Merriman and George Merriman; grandchildren, Geza Kovach III, Jenley Kovach, Mark Merriman and George Merriman; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Teri was preceded in death by her birth father, George Merriman of Indiana; her mother, Vera Jean Vanderhieden Collins; a son, Geza Kovach, Jr; a brother, Robert Merriman; and a sister, Joyce Dean.

Services will be held at Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home in Hammond on Saturday, September 24, 2022. Public visitation will be from 9:00 am - 11:00 am with services beginning at 11:00 am, followed by graveside services at Stafford Cemetery No. 1, 33388 Highway LA-1036, Holden, Louisiana.
