Ms. Theresa M. Liotta, a resident of Independence, passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at the age of 97. Ms. Theresa was born in Independence, LA. on May 18, 1919 to parents, Mr. Anthony and Ms. Grace Maddie. She was a member of Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church and retired from Hammond State School. Ms. Theresa will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother, that enjoyed spending time with her family. She is survived by her children; Grace O’Neill (Donald), Raymond Liotta (Jackie) and JoAnn Galaforo (Frank); one son-in-law, William Ollie; grandchildren, Sammy Galaforo (Rebecca), Joseph Galaforo (Erin), Frank Galaforo (Crystal),Chris Galaforo (Shelly), Billy Ollie(Marla), Darlene Ollie, Robbie Ollie(Julie), Karen Johns(Bobby), Joseph Liotta, (Lori), Rachel Stanga(Glen), Raynell Steiner(Abe), Frank Thomas(Joyce), Dr. Cynthia Thomas, Donald Jr. O’Neill (Gina), Joseph O’Neill(Christie), Christie McLaughlin (James), Theresa Patti (Chris), Frankie Lynn Friloux (Cody); thirty-six great-grandchildren and sixteen great-great-grandchildren, and one great-great-great-granddaughter due in February; one sister, Angie Matise and one brother Emile Maddie and wife Theresa. She is preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Mr. Joseph Liotta; her parents, Mr. Anthony and Mrs. Grace Maddie; two daughters, Anna Delowery and her husband Jimmy and Fannie Ollie and one grandchild, Judy. Visitation will be held at Our Lady of Pompeii Catholic Church, 14450 LA Hwy 442, Tickfaw, LA. on Saturday, November 5, 2016 from 10:00 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00pm.
